About Me
I'm an outdoor-lovin' optimist, biologist/botanist, and habitual creator of art-stuff. I believe that the key to our most fundamental and truest part of ourselves is found in nature and I constantly draw on it for inspiration.
Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?
Yuck! Why would you be tasting pennies!?!

Welcome!
This blog is my opportunity to share my daily paintings and drawings with family and friends locally and abroad. Graphite pencil is my medium of choice but am delving into watercolor, pen and ink, and colored pencils and am loving them all. ................................... New artwork is posted every day (well, almost every day) so I invite you to visit regularly and feel free to leave comments. It's always nice to get feedback. And feel free to subscribe to my daily posts, below. Thanks for visiting! Please come again!Critique
The works of Joan Yoshioka were done because of her love and reverence for nature. Because of her work as biologist and botanist, she had been exposed to the beauty and wonders of nature which she vividly captured in her paintings and sketching. The colors of her works are so alive and vibrant and show so much promise. Her brushstrokes are firm and steady and she knows how to paint from the emotions of her heart and soul. She loves life as embodied in the myriads of colors of nature and she captures them in the canvas of her mind and paintings. You can see her works of arts in her own blog- Drawing on Nature.

Hi Shy,
Okay lang kung ano mang talent ang ibinigay sa atin ng Panginoon. Ang importante ay gamitin natin yun para sa Kanyang kaluwalhatian. Salamat sa dalaw. God bless you all always.
I LOVE Joan's work. Beautifully simple, and yet not simple at all.

Hi Mel,
I hope I may be back for good. After the devastation of Ondoy, we have moved to a new place. Boradband is back and most awesome update my children gifted me with a new Compaq notebook. Trully, GOD is GOOD!
I am so happy. Thanks to my children and partner in life.
