About Me

My paintings mirror the joy and energy I feel when creating works of uninhibited color, movement and emotion. My mission is to make the viewer fall in love with my paintings by sharing my emotions, drawing them in and engulfing their experience with feeling, whether it’s bold, in-your-face, good will, exuberance and passion or a more subtle introspective mood. My technique is highly improvisational, painting off the top of my head with little or no plan in place, using only the emotion of the moment and the mental pictures from my life’s experience.. Many of my collectors fall in love with my work, because bold art reflects how they live their lives. They are successful, confident individuals with passionate, artistic, and outgoing personalities who know what they like and own it.

I consider myself a self-taught artist, obtaining a wealth of knowledge by osmosis from many talented, artistic family members, in addition to study and training on my own. I will be painting as long as I can hold a brush. It's a passion that will not be lost to retirement. I live with my husband in Canyon Country, California

Critique- The paintings of Nancy Eckels are mostly abstract modern in style with vibrant acrylic colors of diverse moods and expressions. The strokes are bold and expressive mirroring the deep sentiments and emotions of the painter. Critique

The works of Joan Yoshioka were done because of her love and reverence for nature. Because of her work as biologist and botanist, she had been exposed to the beauty and wonders of nature which she vividly captured in her paintings and sketching. The colors of her works are so alive and vibrant and show so much promise. Her brushstrokes are firm and steady and she knows how to paint from the emotions of her heart and soul. Tomas Karkalas, 53, male from Klaipeda, Lithuania, born in 1955.

Foreword - (Quoted verbatim from his own foreword) - The depth of steps we have in life is defined by our love one to another.

There are great difference between art therapy and the life of art showrooms, yet the pictures look alike- only names of the artists radiate other authority. I'm not going to discuss the above riddle or to dive into specializations, just welcome you to the wonderland of beauty. The blog don't discuss the healing problems but depicts the art therapy from the viewpoint of its participants. I welcome you to glimpse at our diaries. We are sharing not some manuals but the gratitude for the light that warms the hearts of us all. (Quoted verbatim from his own foreword)


Critique

Tomas Karkalas' works fall under a different category than the usual art paintings. His work is what he calls art therapy and is more of an expression of the soul. Art here is taken in the context of a healing therapy that embodies the holistic approach to human expression. His works are not only works of art but longings of one's soul to find expressions and freedom in the art form. His works are neither named (although some of them are) nor formally categorized (categories are by human experience) and he uses different materials in his works of art. The colors of his works are so vibrant and expressive. They burst forth in a cascading landscape of both colors and free form. There is no limit to this kind of art form for who can limit the expression of one's soul as it attains mastery over its fragile body through the art of healing therapy?
