About Me

I love to paint and to make floorcloths! I have made floorcloths as big as 8 x 10 feet. I'm also an avid gardener and love living in zone 7 after many years in the north. I've also lived in Santa Fe and in Mexico and have traveled in Spain. Lots of the ideas for my paintings come from the places I've lived and traveled and from my garden. My paintings and floorcloths are being enjoyed by people from all over the United States.. Locally I also do faux finishes and wall murals. I attended the University of Cincinnati , College of Design, Architecture, and Art. I taught art for a while , then worked as a graphic designer in the educational publishing business. I have owned my business of faux finishing, custom floorcloths and painted furniture for many years. I have shown my paintings in many venues.

Critique -

Never have I seen such a proliferation of talented and upcoming artists that are spread all over the blog world. I owe this awareness of mine to the numerous friends and fellow artists of Pat O'Neill and Diane Clancy. Now, here is one of the best among the new crops of upcoming artists- Katherine Ladd who goes by the blog name of Heronkate. Her artworks are simply astounding just like the works of Pat and Diane. These ladies started out with just a passion for expressing themselves and they end up churning out one masterpiece after another. Heronkate's works are visually appealing for she combines vividness of color and expressions. There is an inherent joy in her works just like her photo where she celebrates life with gusto. There is no message of pain or hurt in her works but just the masterful colors imbibe in her consciousness by her Creator. I highly recommend her works to would be art collectors and hobbyists. Her works are worth their weight in gold.

Critique

I must say that I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume and brilliance of Diane Clancy's artworks. They combine graphic arts and digital photography. Her artworks are not only vibrant potential masterpieces but they are also outlets of her soul's different longings and expressions. You can almost feel and hear life echoing in every artwork she makes. They are so scintilating and magnificent in color and their sheer volume and variety are simply astonishing. I feel that the artworks being produced by Diane Clancy and Susan Elkin are just a scratch in the surface. They are capable of bringing out an explosion of truly masterful works of art that will become the toast of the art connoiseurs of tomorrow. I may probably come out with a second feature of her voluminous art works to give justice to these truly magnificent works of art.
